Day 2 of the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference's (NEWMAC) Swimming and Diving Championships at MIT in Cambridge, Massachusetts belonged to former MDI Trojan Lydia DaCorte! DaCorte, swimming for Wheaton College set and broke a school record in the 500 Yard Freestyle qualifying for the NCAA B cut. with a time of 4:55.17

DaCorte, a freshman, initially broke the Wheaton record during the prelims and then broke it again while winning her first ever NEWMAC Championship in the 500 Free.

She also was part of the 400 Medley Relay Team which finished 2nd in the meet, setting a new school record and qualifying for the NCAA B cut. Lydia along with teammates Eva Pet, Erin Kean and Jenna Hayden finished with a time of 3:49.66

On Day 1 of the Championships on Thursday, February 22nd DaCorte was part of the 800 Yard Freestyle Relay Team that finished 3rd.

The Wheaton Lyons are currently in 2nd place in the meet, trailing MIT with the meet continuing this weekend.
