Tickets for Saturday's game between the MDI Girls and Gray New Gloucester for the State Gold Ball at the Cross Insurance Center in Portland are available at MDI High School

The MDI Girls Basketball Team are the Northern Maine Class B Champion for the 1st time since 2014, beating the previously undefeated Waterville Purple Panthers 44-35 at the Cross Insurance Center on Saturday, February 23rd.

What a night! I am dragging on Thursday, after the MDI Girl's thrilling victory in overtime over Winslow in the semifinals, 57-51! Thank goodness I live only 5 minutes from the Cross Insurance Center, as a hour ride home from Bar Harbor would have been too much!

The MDI Girls Basketball Team defeated the Winslow Black Raiders 57-51 in overtime on Wednesday night, February 20th. The game went into overtime thanks to Julia Watras' 3-pointer as regulation ended 50-50

The Ellsworth Eagles jumped out to a 7-0 lead to start the game and then Caribou went on a 7-0 run. The Eagles had the lead until 4:30 was left in the 3rd Quarter, but weren't able to withstand a potent Viking offense, when Caribou took the lead for good in the 3rd Quarter thanks to a 22-7 run. Ellsworth would get the lead to 3 in the 4th Quarter before the Vikings put the game away going 6-8 from the free throw line.
