Here's when to look for some spacey awesomeness!

The Leonid Meteor Shower will light up the night sky this weekend. The shooting stars arrive on the heels of Taurid Meteor Shower, which produced fireballs in the skies over Ohio and Germany earlier this week.

The Leonids will streak across the night sky from the constellation Leo the Lion. Stargazers can see about 10-20 shooting stars per-hour, according to Space.com. In the past the Leonid Meteor Shower has produced as many as 50,000 shooting stars. The best viewing will be Friday and Saturday night, from midnight to dawn.

Mainers may have a hard time seeing the meteor shower as the best viewing will be out west. It comes down to the timing of earth passing through the trail of the Tempel-Tuttle comet, which produces the meteors. Mainers should stargaze just before dawn as a peak viewing time.
