An investigation into the sale of fentanyl in the town of Bucksport resulted in the arrests of seven people.

What Prompted the Arrests?

Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss says the investigation has been ongoing for the past several months, in a collaborative effort between the Bucksport Police Department, the Hancock County Sheriff's Office, and the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency's Downeast Task Force in Ellsworth. Undercover agents have allegedly been able to make purchases of fentanyl within the Bucksport town limits.

Who Was Arrested in This Investigation?

Over the past month, seven people have been arrested:

  • Edmund Osborne, 63, of Bucksport is charged with class B unlawful trafficking in fentanyl
  • Joshua Moore, 38, of Bucksport is charged with class B unlawful trafficking in fentanyl
  • Daniel Needham, 47, of Brewer is charged with class A aggravated trafficking in fentanyl
  • Tiffany Dow, 40, of Bangor is charged with class A aggravated trafficking in fentanyl
  • Tobey Harrington, 30, of Bangor is charged with class A aggravated trafficking in fentanyl
  • Sara Winters, 34, of Bucksport, is charged with class B unlawful trafficking in fentanyl
  • Zachary Turcotte, 24, of Orland is charged with class A aggravated trafficking in fentanyl

Six of the suspects were arrested in Bucksport, while Turcotte was taken into custody in Orland. They were all taken to the Hancock County Jail for booking.
