The Annual Wreaths Across America's "Escort to Arlington" begins on Saturday, December 6th, with ceremonies in Lubec, Calais and Narraguagus High School before visits to Ellsworth and Hermon on Sunday, December 7th.

On Saturday December 6th the schedule is

  • 6:30 a.m. Arrival at West Quoddy Head Light in Lubec with a ceremony starting at 6:50 a.m.
  • 10:30 a.m. Arrival at Calais Border Crossing in Calais with the ceremony starting at 11 a.m.
  • 4 p.m. Ceremony at Narraguagus High School in Harrington.

On Sunday, December 7th the schedule is

  • 7:45 a.m. Parade through Milbridge
  • 8:40 a.m. Arrival at Downeast Family YMCA in Ellsworth with the ceremony starting 9:10 a.m.
  • 11:45 a.m. Arrival at Hermon High School with the ceremony starting at 12:15 p.m.

New this year is the fact that there will be an indoor ceremony at the Downeast Family YMCA rather than at the Mill Mall. There will be music, guest speakers and a "Welcome Home Observance" for the many Vietnam veterans who were never given a proper welcome home!

All Vietnam veterans are encouraged to attend. If you know of a Vietnam Vet that may need a personal invitation to the Ellsworth ceremony, please call PJ Davis at Darling's Chevrolet at 479-1533 or email paul.davis@darlings.com

There is a limited amount of handicap and parking at the Downeast Family YMCA. More parking is available in front of the Mill Mall, Hammond Lumber or at the Ellsworth Middle School.

There is a new route when the "Escort to Arlington" leaves Ellsworth. This year, they will take Route 1A to Bangor!
