WEEKEND TOP 10: American Folk Festival, Penobscot Theatre Preview + Eclipse Magic
There's always lots of stuff going on in and around Bangor, so it can be hard to decide what to do. That's where our Weekend Top 10 comes in.
The Cool Sounds Summer Concert Series continues on Thursday, Aug. 24, with Flash In The Pans. Based in Blue Hill, Flash In the Pans is one of the largest community steel bands in the country.
Hear the stories of many people who were committed to anti-slavery and women's rights causes. The cost is $7 per person.
Take a special look at the August 21, 2017 Total Solar Eclipse and future ones visible here in Maine. The program includes a tour of the night sky as viewed from Maine. Tickets are $6 for adults, and $4 for children under 12.
Local farmers will be selling seasonal fruits and vegetables, naturally raised meats -- including beef, pork and chicken -- along with eggs, cheeses, baked goods, coffee, seedlings, cut flowers and more. The Sunday market is located across the street from the Bangor Public Library.
Each week, Miss Abby will read stories and lead a small activity geared toward 3-8 year olds.
Explore imaginative art galleries that brighten up downtown, featuring both local and nationally recognized artists. Look for the ever-changing and always enticing ‘Farm to Gallery’ food tastings coordinated by Maine Farmland Trust.
