Top Highlights From The Washington Academy Vs. MDI Baseball Game

After MDI scored 1 run in the bottom of the 7th inning to tie the score 6-6 the Washington Academy Raiders scored 6 runs in the top of the 8th to beat MDI 12-6 on Wednesday, April 30th.

Colin Sullivan started on the mound for MDI and went 2.1 innings allowing 1 hit and 4 runs, 2 of which were earned. He struck out 6 and walked 2. Preston Tripp went 2.2 innings allowing 5 hits and 2 unearned runs. He struck out 5 and walked 2. Spencer Grierson took the loss. He went 2.1 inning allowing 6 runs, walking 6 and striking out 3. Gunner Vines struck out the final batter but walked 2.

Sullivan was 2-2 with a triple and walked 3 times. Preston Tripp was 2-3 with a double. Alister Frongillo was 2-4 with a pair of doubles. Cameron Graham had a single.

Parker Cates started on the mound for the Raiders. He went 2.0 innings allowing 2 hits and 3 runs, striking out 2 and walking 5. James Welch went 3.1 innings allowing 3 hits and 1 run, striking out 6 and walking 1. Trevor Shimabukuro picked up the win, pitching the final 2.2 innings allowing 2 hits and 2 runs. He struck out 4 and walked 2.

Colby Moholland was 2-3 with a double for the Raiders. Preston Cated was 2-4. Mike Taylor had a double and Ben Hennessey had a single.

MDI is 0-1. The Trojans will play host to the Old Town Coyotes on Saturday, May 3rd at 11 a.m.

Washington Academy is 2-0. They will host the Foxcroft Academy Ponies on Friday, May 2nd at 4:30 p.m.
