Walls Named Husson Pitching Coach
When last we knew, former MDI Trojan Ben Walls had been named to his 2nd consecutive 2nd Team North Atlantic Conference All-Star Team . Now Ben Walls who graduated from Husson University in May 2017 has been named the Husson Pitching Coach for the 2017-18 Season!
For the 2017 season Walls had a 1.77 Earned Run Average and had a 6-2 record with 1 save for the Husson University Eagles. Walls was a captain for the Eagles, and struck out 43 batters while allowing 57 hits and 9 walks in 66.0 innings. He led the NAC in completed games, was 2nd in innings pitched and tied for 3rd in wins and games started and was 4th in the conference with his 1.77 ERA. He was ranked 8th in strikeouts for the season.
In his Husson career Walls had a 19-6 record with 2 saves and a 2.47 ERA, the lowest career ERA of any pitcher with a minimum of 90 innings in over 40 years. For his career he had 37 appearances with 27 starts. He pitched 197 innings and struck out 107 batters and walked only 38 and opponents only had a .263 batting average against him.
Walls will be studying for his Masters Degree this year at Husson.
