In a game that quite frankly that should never have been started (Note- This is my opinion) the MDI-John Bapst Boy's Soccer game at the University of Maine was suspended with a minute played in the 2nd Half.

Despite being played on the artificial turf in Orono, there were standing puddles and the field was ruled unplayable.

John Bapst was leading MDI 2-1 at the time of the suspension.

MDI's goal was scored on a penalty kick by Martin Hurley with 22 seconds remaining in the first half.

The schools are waiting on a determination if the game will resume or if the game goes into the record books as a win for John Bapst.

You can see the first half and the horrible playing conditions in the video below

MDI will travel to GSA on Monday, September 29th at 4 p.m.

John Bapst will host Hermon on the new UMaine Soccer Pitch on Saturday, September 27th at 3 p.m.

The MDI and John Bapst JV Teams battled to a 1-1 tie.

Thanks to Coach Max Mason for the scores.
