Undermanned Lady Eagles Beat Presque Isle 49-41 [STATS]

The Ellsworth Girls Basketball Team beat the Presque Isle Wildcats 49-41 on Saturday afternoon, December 21st in Ellsworth.

Ellsworth, who have lost Sydney Mason, Abby Radel and Lily Bean led 11-10 at the end of the 1st Quarter and 26-15 at the end of the 1st Half. The Eagles led 41-30 in the 3rd Quarter.

But in the 4th Quarter, Ellsworth's leading scorer, Elizabeth Boles who had 19 points, including 4 3's, was forced to leave the game. After a delay in the game, when both teams were sent back to their locker rooms, Ellsworth went 6-10 from the free throw line, to hang on for the win.

Addison Atherton who played briefly Friday, after being out with an injured finger, scored her 1st point of the season in the 4th Quarter.

Ellsworth was led by Boles with 19 points and 4 3-pointers. Elise Sargent and Cam Clough each had 8 points. Sargent had 2 3's and Clough 1 3-pointr. Kaylee Bagley had 3-pointer. Ellsworth was 13-19 from the free throw line.

Presque Isle was led by Georganna Curtis who finished with 11 points, including 1 3-pointer. Lenora Curtis had 11 points, with 9 of them coming in the 2nd Half. Rhianna Desjardins had 2 3-pointers. The Wildcats were 4-10 from the free throw line

Ellsworth is now 4-1. They will host Old Town on Friday, December 27th at 6:30 p.m.

Presque Isle is 4-2. They will host Hermon on Friday, December 27th at 1:30 p.m.
