Trojans Tame Coyotes 56-13

The MDI Girl's Basketball Team traveled to Old Town on Tuesday, January 10th and defeated the Old Town Coyotes 56-13.

The Trojans led 17-0 at the end of the 1st Quarter. Maddy Good and Maddy Candage had 4 points, Alexis Clarito had a 3-pointer and Maya Watras, Julia Watras and Mariah Hamor each had 2 points for the Trojans.

It was 30-1 MDI at the end of the 1st Half. Clarito had 5 points in the 2nd Quarter along with a 3-pointer. May Watras had 4 points and Abbe Miller and Emma Watras had 2 points for MDI. For Old Town Olivia Albert was 1-3 from the free throw line.

In the 3rd Quarter MDI extended their lead to 44-4. Maddy Candage and Rachelle Swanson had 4 points each, Abbe Miller, Maddy Good and Mariah Hamor each had 2 points for MDI. For Old Town Cassidy Holmes had a 3-pointer.

In the 4th Quarter for MDI, Julia Link scored her 1st varsity points, scoring 6 in the Quarter. Hannah Chamberlain had 4 points, Emily Banks and Rachelle Swanson were each 1-2 from the free throw line. For Old Town Corinne Saucier had 3 points, Natalie St. Louis, Olivia Albert and Claudia Damboise had 2 points each.

MDI was led by Alexis Clarito and Maddy Candage with 8 points each while Maya Watras, Maddy Good, and Julia Link each had 6 points. MDI was 2-5 from the free throw line.

Old Town was led by Corinne Saucier, Cassidy Holmes and Olivia Albert each of whom had 3 points. Old Town was 6-14 from the free throw line.

MDI is now 7-2 and will play host to Hermon on Thursday, January 12th at 7 PM in a game that will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA and WDEA Internet Radio.

Old Town is 0-10 and play at Mattanawcook Academy on Saturday, January 14th at 3:30 PM.
