Trojan’s Rally Comes Up Short – MDI Baseball Falls to Old Town 4-3 [PHOTOS]
Trailing 4-1 in the 5th inning the MDI Trojans scored twice in the top of the 6th but couldn't tie the score, and fell 4-3 to the Old Town Coyotes on a beautiful Saturday afternoon, May 15th at Victory Field in Old Town.

Old Town led 3-1 at the end of the 1st inning and 4-1 after 5 innings.
Sam Mitchell pitched the complete game for MDI, taking the tough luck loss. He allowed 8 hits, 4 runs, although just 1 was earned. He struck out 2 and walked 1.
Tanner Evans pitched the complete game for Old Town, allowing 5 hits and 3 runs, all earned. He struck out 9 and didn't walk a batter.
For MDI Logan Beckwith was 2-3 with a double and single and stolen base. Quenten Pileggi had a double. Grady Wellman-Webster had a single and stolen base. Jay Haney had a single. The Trojans committed 4 errors.
For Old Town Peyton Vose was 2-2 with a home run. Gabe Gifford, and Connor McCannell each had a double. Evans, Casey Downs, and Isaac Hayes all singled.
MDI is now 5-4 and will play John Bapst at Husson University on Tuesday, May 18th at 4 p.m.
Old Town is 8-2 and will play at Orono on Tuesday, May 18th.
