Trojans Outlast Ponies 47-45 [Box Score/Recap/Photos]

The MDI Trojans hung on to beat the Foxcroft Academy Ponies Saturday night, February 3rd 47-45 in Dover Foxcroft. MDI led 46-45 when Foxcroft Academy's Makenzie Beaudry's shot with 2.5 seconds left went in and out of the basket and then Emily Banks, fouled on the rebound made 1-2 of free throws to give the Trojans the win.

Foxcroft Academy led 15-10 at the end of the 1st Quarter. Avery Nelson had 6 points, Olivia Wesley 4 points, Ainsley Ade 3 points and Makenzie Beaudry had 2 points for the Ponies. For MDI Emily Banks, and Julia Watras had 3 points each and Maddy Good and Maddy Candage had 2 points each.

In the 2nd Quarter MDI outscored Foxcroft Academy 20-7 to take a 30-22 lead at the end of the 1st Half. Candage had 10 points for MDI, Alexis Clarito and Watras had 3 points each and Good and Banks had 2 points each. For the Ponies Beaudry had 3 points, Cassidy Marsh had 2 points and Weasley 1 point.

In the 3rd Quarter, Foxcroft Academy cut MDI's lead to 2 points 39-37 as they outscored MDI 15-9. Beaudry had 8 points, Marsh 4 points and Wesley had a 3-pointer. For MDI Hannah Chamberlain had a 3-pointer and Lindsey McEachern and Watras had 2 points each.

In the 4th Quarter, Watras had 5 points, Candage 2 points and Banks 1 point for MDI. For Foxcroft Academy Wesley had a 3-pointer, Cailin Seavey 3 points and Beaudry had 2 points.

MDI had 2 players in double figures, Maddy Candage with 16 points and Julia Watras 13 points. The Trojans were 10-18 from the free throw line

Foxcroft Academy was led by Makenzie Beaudry with 16 points and Olivia Wesley had 11 points. The Ponies were 7-11 from the free throw line.
