Trojans Fall to Witches 10-8 in Extra Innings [PHOTOS]

The MDI Trojans fell to the Brewer Witches 10-8 in Bar Harbor in the final home game of the regular season in 8 innings on Saturday, May 29th.

Brewer jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the top of the 1st inning, but MDI battled back adding 2 runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning, and 5 runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning to take a 7-4 lead. But Brewer added 3 runs in the top of the 6th inning to tie the score 7-7. MDI added a run in the bottom of the 6th to take a 8-7 lead. Brewer scored a run in the top of the 7th and then added 2 runs in the 8th to come away with the win.

Sam Mitchell started the game for MDI and went 5.2 innings. He allowed 7 runs on 10 hits, striking out 4 and walking 4. Porter Isaacs came on in relief and was charged with the loss, going 2.1 innings. He allowed 3 hits, 3 runs, striking out 1 and walking 1.

For Brewer Jed Gilpatrick started on the mound and went 2.0 innings allowing 4 hits and 6 runs. He struck out 3 and walked 2. Maddox Torrey went 4.0 innings allowing 2 runs on 2 hits. He struck out 2 and walked 1. Anthony Chiappone picked up the win throwing the last 2 innings. He struck out 3 and walked 1 and didn't allow a hit.
