Trojan Girls Grounded by Hermon 47-33

Thursday night, January 17th was a tough night for the MDI Trojan Girls Basketball Team as they fell to the Hermon Hawks in Hermon 47-33.

MDI jumped out to a 8-3 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter. At Halftime Hermon was up by 1 point, 12-10, as MDI just made 2 free throws in the 2nd Quarter. Hermon put the game away in the 3rd Quarter, outscoring MDI 19-8 to take a 31-18 lead.

MDI was led by Julia Watras who had 14 points. Maddy Candage had 11 points. The Trojans just make 1 3-pointer, that by Hannah Chamberlain in the 4th Quarter. MDI was 6-10 from the free throw line.

Hermon was led by Caitlyn Tracy with a game high 18 points while Madisyn Curtis had 12 points. Brooke Cowan had 2 3's and Tracy was 3-pointer. The Hawks were 10-17 from the free throw line.

MDI now 9-2 plays at Old Town on Monday, January 21st. That game is now scheduled to tipoff at 3:30 because of the expected Sunday snowstorm. The game will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA with the pregame starting at 3:15. That game will also be heard on WDEA Internet Radio, on our free downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device.

Hermon remains undefeated with a 10-0 record and are scheduled to play at Presque Isle on Monday, January 21st.
