If you are traveling on Route 1 and/or Route 1A  on Tuesday night, September 10th you should expect travel delays, as the Maine State Police will be escorting a huge transformer from Hermon to the Downeast Wind Project in Columbia Falls, beginning at 7 p.m.

They will be traveling 35 miles per hour, on a journey that is expected to take 8 to 9 hours.

According to our friends at the Ellsworth American the exact route will be

turn left onto Odlin Road and proceed to Perry Road (Bangor), turn right onto Perry Road and proceed to Mecaw Road, turn right onto Mecaw Road and proceed onto Rte 202, turn left onto Rte. 202 and proceed to Interstate 395, turn onto I-395, and proceed to Rte. 1A, turn onto Rte. 1A East and proceed to Rte. 1, continue onto Rte. 1 North and proceed to Rte. 182, turn left onto Rte. 182 and proceed to Rte. 1, turn left onto Rte. 1 North and proceed to Station Road (Columbia), turn left onto Station Road and proceed to Pea Ridge Road, turn left onto Pea Ridge Road and proceed to the site.
