The Town of Lamoine held it's annual Town Meeting on March 7th, 2017 and at the meeting, voters passed a motion to ban retail marijuana sales and allowing marijuana social clubs within the Town of Lamoine.

This ordinance passed 98-39. This ordinance was in response to the November 2016 Referendum vote where voters passed Question 1 "Do you want to allow the possession and use of marijuana under state law by persons who are at least 21 years of age, and allow the cultivation, manufacture, distribution, testing, and sale of marijuana and marijuana products subject to state regulation, taxation and local ordinance."

In other results Nate Mason was reelected to a 3 year term as Selectman, Terry Town was elected Assessor and Gordon Donaldson and Matthew Montgomery were elected to the School Board. All ran unopposed.

There were 137 votes cast out of 1489 registered voters.
