Forget Fido or Fluffy. When it comes to naming our dogs, the most popular name is Bella. And for cats, it's also Bella. That's the word from Veterinary Pet Insurance Co., which annually sorts through its database of nearly a half-million insured pets to determine the year's most popular names for dogs and cats. "The popularity of people names doubling as pet names is a testament to the bigger trend of pet owners viewing their pets as members of the family," said VPI's Curtis Steinhoff. "It's now just as common for a pet to be named 'Oliver' or 'Chloe' as it is for a child."
