The best way to lose weight or maintain a healthy weight is to get enough sleep each night, according to sleep researchers from the University of Colorado. And the opposite is also true. Adults who sleep less than five or six hours a night and children who sleep less than 10 hours a night are at a far higher risk of gaining weight. In fact, losing just a few hours of sleep for several nights in a row -- to cram for an exam or to meet a looming deadline at work -- can lead to an immediate weight gain.

So tonight.. go to bed and lose weight!
