Sumner Baseball Opens Season with 3-0 Win Over Machias.

The Sumner Tigers beat the Machias Bulldogs 3-0 on Wednesday, April 23rd as Logan Crowley struck out 13.

Crowley pitched 6.2 innings striking out 13 and walking 2 while scattering 4 hits. Cole Faulkingham closed the game striking out the last batter.

Crowley helped himself at the plate. Batting cleanup he was 1-2 with a double, driving in 2 runs.

Deegan Scott, Eben Perepchuk and Shawn Green each had a single for the Tigers.

Mickey Fitzsimmons took the tough-luck loss for Machias. Pitching a complete game, Fitzsimmons struck out 10 and didn't walk a batter.

Tyler Alley was 2-3 for Machias. Brady Fergerson had a double and Denver Fergersun had as single.

Sumner, now 1-0 will travel to Blue Hill to play George Stevens Academy on Wednesday, April 30th at 4:30 p.m.

Machias, 0-1 will host Jonesport-Beals on Friday, April 25th at 4 p.m.
