Stuck at 105 Red Sox Lose Again in Extra Innings 4-3

The Boston Red Sox are still 1 game away from clinching home field advantage throughout the playoffs and 1 win away from setting a new franchise record after losing 4-3 to Cleveland on Sunday night, September 23rd. It was their 2nd 11 inning loss to the Indians in as many days.

Hector Velazquez started for the Red Sox, and pitched 3.1 innings allowing 4 hits. and 2 runs. He struck out 3. Steven Wright's streak of scoreless innings ended as he allowed a run in the 4th inning. William Cuevas took the loss, but pitched well for 5.1 innings.

Mookie Betts returning to the field was 4-6 and just a triple shy of hitting for the cycle. He's now hitting .343 on the season. His homer, a solo shot in the 5th inning to tie the game was his 31st of the season.
