State Shutdown Affects Lottery Sales
If you had plans on winning Saturday night's 106 million dollar in the Powerball drawing on Saturday, July 1st, you are going to be out of luck in Maine, if you don't have a ticket already!
The Maine State government shutdown means that the following multi-state games will not be available for purchase until the shutdown is over: Powerball, Mega Millions, Hot Lotto and Lucky for Life.
Instant tickets, Megabucks, Pick 3, Pick 4, Gimme5 and World Poker Tour will remain on sale. Depending upon the length of the shutdown, convenience stores may run out of instant tickets as the Maine Lottery Office is closed in the initial round of closures.
