Southwest Harbor-Tremont Chamber Cancels 4th of July Fireworks and Oktoberfest in 2020

The Southwest Harbor-Tremont Chamber of Commerce (Acadia Chamber) made the painful decision on Thursday, April 23rd to cancel the 4th of July Fireworks and the Oktoberfest Celebration in 2020.

The Chamber President, Ruth Davis, sent out a letter to Chamber Members and Business Owners saying

"Dear Chamber Members and Business Owners,

Due to the Coronavirus epidemic shutdown, the Chamber Board has had to make some difficult choices about our 2020 Schedule of Events.

We are all concerned about the health and safety of our residents, seasonal workers and our visitors. Therefore, we are canceling events where large gatherings would naturally form. This year, we will not be holding a fireworks display on July 4th, and we are postponing our Acadia's Annual Oktoberfests' 25th season celebration until 2021."

Oktoberfest was scheduled to take place October 9th and 10th.
