MDI Trojans Score 7 Runs in 3rd Inning to Beat John Bapst 9-2

The MDI Trojans scored 7 runs in the 3rd inning and went on to beat the John Bapst Crusaders 9-2 on Tuesday night, May 5th in Bangor.

Ella Watson picked up the win for the Trojans in the circle, pitching a complete game and holding the Crusaders to 6 hits and 2 runs, 1 of which was earned. She struck out 6 and walked 1.

Grace Sinclair was 3-4 a the plate, driving in a run Watson, the lead-off batter helped herself a the plate going 2-5 and driving in 2 runs, Grace Hodgdon was 2-4, Alahna Terry was 2-4 with a run batted in. Melodie Jacobs was 2-4. Cate Brown and Avery Norwood each had a single, with Norwood driving in a run.

Watson and Hodgdon each had a stolen base for the Trojans.

Meredith Walsh took the loss for the Crusaders. She allowed 14 hits and 9 runs, 8 of which were earned. She struck out 5 and walked 2.

Natalie Haulk had a double and was 3-3 for the Crusaders while Grace Bouchard was 2-3.

MDI is 3-2. They will play host to Ellsworth on Monday, May 11th at 4:30 p.m.

John Bapst is 3-3. They will play host to Hermon on Thursday, May 7th.
