Slippery Conditions and Accidents Between Ellsworth and Brewer Friday Afternoon January 18th

There were at least 3 cars off the road and a tractor trailer jackknifed between Brewer and Ellsworth on Friday afternoon, January 18th around 2:30 PM.

Traffic was at a standstill heading down from Brewer to Ellsworth for about 20 minutes as they removed 1 vehicle, but as you can see the tractor trailer was still in the woods. Dedham Fire Department responded and the Hancock County Sheriff's Department was at the scene of another accident.

The good news is that Maine DOT trucks were out, and once clear of this major accident in Dedham on Route 1A it was smooth sailing down to Ellsworth.
