Ellsworth pitchers Sara Shea and Mackenzie Chipman combined for a no-hitter Tuesday afternoon as Ellsworth beat Washington Academy 16-0 at Ellsworth High School.

Shea threw the first 3 innings striking out 8 and walking 1, while Chipman threw the final 2 innings striking out 4 and walking 1 in a mercy rule shortened game.

Kayla Duhamine was 2-3 blasting a home run and driving in 4 runs. Sara Shea helped her own cause at the plate going 2-4 with a double. Katelynn Bagley was 2-3. Ellie Clarke, Katie Hammer, Sydney Stevens Mara Pickering and Lexi Rossie all had a single. Ellsworth had a total of 11 hits.

The Eagles ran wild on the base paths, stealing a total of 15 bases. Katelynn Bagley had 3,  Kayla Duhaime, Hannah Sargent, Sara Shea and Lexi Rossie each stole  2 bases, and  Ellie Clarke, Shelby Cote, Katie Hammer, and Sydney Stevens each had 1 stolen base.

Ellsworth improved to 2-2 and will play host to John Bapst on Thursday, May 3rd at 4:30 PM.

Washington Academy is 2-2 and will play host to Old Town on Saturday, May 5th at 12 Noon.
