September 10th is National TV Dinner Day! I wonder does anyone actually eat TV Dinners anymore? It used to be a big deal when we could pick out our own TV Dinner and would always want to get one that included dessert!

The first Swanson TV Dinner consisted of a Thanksgiving meal of turkey, cornbread dressing, peas, and sweet potatoes. The original product sold for 98 cents, and in the 1st year, 1953, they sold more than 10 million dinners!

In 1960 they added desserts to the dinners, making them 4 compartment trays.

In 1973 the the first Swanson Hungry-Man dinners were marketed, which were larger portions of the regular dinners!
