Santa will be arriving in Bar Harbor this Friday night, December 4th as part of the Village Holidays but it will be done differently as the Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce makes this a COVID-safe event.

Santa is very disappointed he won't be able to meet with all the children at the YMCA as he normally does, but he wants to let everyone know that he will be driven through the Town of Bar Harbor on a horse drawn carriage so he can wave to all the kids!

Friday’s procession will commence at roughly 5:30 pm on lower Main Street heading north toward the Village Green, turn left onto Cottage Street, then travel onto Eden Street (Rt. 3), and make a left onto Mount Desert Street before finally turning right onto Main Street and finishing at Park Street. Please park your car along the route and stay inside until Santa approaches or, if you are walking into town, space out on the sidewalk to allow plenty of room between your party and others around you. Please if you are outside, wear a mask!

Following closely behind Santa will be elves from the Bar Harbor Food Pantry who will be collecting donations for families in need this holiday season. So, please, if you’re able, bring at least one non-perishable food item to contribute, which you can place directly into their carts. Please refrain from putting any items in bags.

The Village Holidays Sale will be your chance to get out and check off items on your gift list. With our local shops having reduced customer capacity this year, the usual Midnight Madness Sale will be spread out over three days to give everyone a chance to shop safely. Grab all your gifts at discounted prices on December 4th, 5th, and 6th!
