The Boston Red Sox were shutout by the New York Yankees 4-0 on Tuesday night, April 21st at Fenway Park as Giancarlo drove in 3 runs for the Yankees.

The Red Sox managed only 4 hits on the night. It was the 5th time that the Red Sox have been held to 4 or fewer hits in their 23 games.

Connelly Early went 5.1 inning and allowed 5 hits and 3 runs, walking 3 and striking out 3. Taking the loss his recored is now 1-1.

Jack Anderson came on in releif and allowed 4 hits and 1 run, striking out 2. Tyler Samaniego, recalled when Sonny Gray went on the Injured List  pitched 1.2 innings and allowed a hit and walked 1, striking out 3.

Ceddanne Rafaela was 1-3, extending his career-long on-base streak to 17 games.

Carlos Narvaez had a single and Marcello Mayer had a double. Willson Contreras had Boston's other hit.
