Red Sox Rally For Seventh Straight Win Against Rays

The Boston Red Sox won their season-high 7th game in a row, and are now a season-high 5 games over .500 after beating the Tampa Bay Rays 4-3 on Thursday night at Fenway Park.

This is their longest winning streak since they won 8 games from April 29-May 6, 2023 and the 1st time they've been 5 games above .500 since August 30, 2024.

On Thursday night, trailing 3-1 the Red Sox scored 3 runs in the 7th inning for the win.

Ceddanne Rafaela was 2-3 with a 2-4un single in the 7th inning to give Boston the lead.

Roman Anthony was 1-4 with a RBI single in the 3rd inning, extending his hitting streak to 7 games.

Marcelo Mayer was 1-3 with a double, driving in a run in the 7th inning. He's now 4-9 over his last 3 games.

Walker Buehler started for the Red Sox and went 6.0 innings, allowing 5 hits, and 3 runs. He struck out 2 and walked 3. 2 of the 5 hits he allowed were home runs.

Chris Murphy picked up his 1st win of the season (1-0) pitching the 7th inning. Garrett Whitlock pitched the 8th striking out 2. Aroldis Chapman earned his 16th save of the season, striking out 2 in the 9th inning.

Chapman struck out his 1300th and 1301 of his career.

After the game, Boston informed infielder David Hamilton that he was being sent down to Worcester so that the Red Sox could reinstate Alex Bregman from the Injured List. Hunter Dobbins is expected to be reinstated from the Injured List to start Friday night's game. Isaiah Campbell is expected to be sent down to Worcester.

Boston is now 5.0 games out of 1st place in 4th place in the AL East, but are now in sole possession of the 3rd wild card playoff spot. Boston and Tampa Bay will play Friday night, July 11th, with the pregame starting at 6:10 and 1st pitch at 7:10 on WDEA AM 1370.
