The Boston Red Sox won their 5th game in a row, Tuesday night, August 14th, beating the Philadelphia Phillies 2-1 in the 1st game of a 2 game series in Philadelphia.

Brock Holt came off the bench in the 8th inning with the score tied 1-1 and promptly hit a go-ahead homer, his 3rd of the season.

Sandy Leon also hit his 5th homer in the 3rd inning to put the Red Sox on the board.

Rick Porcello was stellar on the mound, going 7 innings, allowing just 2 hits and 1 run, He struck out 10 and didn't walk a batter. He's now 15-5 on the season and he helped himself at the plate, hitting a double.

Heath Hembree pitched a scoreless 8th and Craig Kimbrel the 9th earning his 36th save.

The Yankees beat Tampa Bay 4-1 on Tuesday and the Red Sox lead remains 10 games.

Nathan Eovaldi looks to bounce back Wednesday night  against the Phillies for the Red Sox after his last rough start.. The pregame starts at 6:20 with the 1st pitch at 7:05 on AM 1370 WDEA.
