The Boston Red Sox trailed 2-0 going into the bottom of the 9th inning Saturday night, August 22nd against the San Francisco Giants. When the chaos ended, they beat the Giants 3-2 on a walk-off slide by Eli White with the play being reviewed by the umpires.

White who pinch-hit in the 9th inning driving in a run, scored on Wilyer Abreu's fielder's choice . In a bang-bang play, White's headfirst slide was ruled safe by the home plate umpire James Hoye. The play was reviewed, the call was confirmed and the Red Sox went wild!

It was Boston's 4th walk-off win of the season, and their 31st come-from-behind win of the year!

Nick Sogard was 2-3 with a game-tying RBI double in the 9th inning.

Mickey Gaspar was 1-2 with a double.

Caleb Durbin was 2-3

On the mound Patrick Sandoval pitched 5.2 innings, allowing 5 hits and 2 runs. He struck out 6 and walked 2. Greg Weissert pitched an inning, striking out 2. Jovani Moran pitched an inning allowing a hit, while striking out 1 and walking 1. Wyatt Olds, making his 3rd appearance for Boston, pitched the final 1.1 innings earning the win. He struck out 1, walked 2 and allowed a hit.
