The Red Sox squandered a 6-run lead and ruined the return of Lucas Giolito, falling to the Toronto Blue Jays 7-6 in 10 innings on Wednesday night.

Boston was staked to a 6-0 lead with Alex Bregman's 7th homer of the season, a solo shot in the 1st inning and Carlos Narvaez's 3rd homer of the season, a 2-run homer in the 6th inning leading the way.

Rafael Devers was 2-5 with a pair of doubles. He scored on the 1st inning on a balk.

Jarren Duran was 2-4, with a run batted in but was thrown out at the plate trying to score from 1st on Devers' double in the 1st inning.

Giolitio pitched 6.0 innings and allowed 5 hits and 3 runs, striking out 7 and walking 2. Garrett Whitlock had his 1st blown save of the season, allowing the tying runs, as he was charged with 3 runs, pitching 2.0 innings and allowing 4 hits. Aroldis Chapman pitched the 9th inning. Justin Slaten took the loss allowing the game-winning hit in the 10th inning.

Toronto hit 3 home runs in the game.

Boston is now 17-15 and 2nd in the AL East, 1.5 games back of the Yankees. Toronto is 14-16 and in 4th place. The 2 teams will play the final game of the 3-game series on Thursday night, May 2nd with the pregame starting at 6:07 and 1st pitch at 7:07 on WDEA AM 1370.
