The Boston Red Sox shutout the Minnesota Twins 3-0 Sunday afternoon, July 29th, taking 3 out of 4 games from the Twins. Newcomer Nathan Eovaldi made his 1st start for the Red Sox, and it was one to remember, going 7.0 innings, striking out 5 and allowing 4 hits to win his 1st game as a member of the Red Sox.

JD Martinez was 2-4 with a double, driving in all 3 runs for the Red Sox. He leads the major leagues with 89 runs batted in.

Andrew Benintendi was 2-4 with a double and walk. The single in the 1st inning was his 300th career hit.

With Rafael Devers on the 10 day disabled list, Blake Swihart made his 1st career start at 3rd base, at any professional level. He was 2-4 with a double and played error less baseball even starting a double play.

Craig Kimbrel picked up his 33rd save, pitching the 9th inning.
