For a team that didn't hit a Grand Slam during the entire 2017 season, the Boston Red Sox are off to a hot start in 2018, hitting their 4th Grand Slam of the Year, in their 17th game, on April 18th. Wednesday's Grand Slam came off the bat of Rafael Devers and the Red Sox cruised to a 9-0 win over the Angels.

In addition to the Grand Slam, Devers had a double and was 2-5. Mitch Moreland hit his 1st home run in the 9th inning, a solo shot and JD Martinez hit hsi 3rd homer of the season in the 4th, also a solo dinger. Jackie Bradley Jr. a night after hitting 3 homers, was 2-5 with a double.

Rick Porcello went 6 innings allowing 6 hits, striking out 6, walking none to pick up his 4th victory of the season. A trio of relievers didn't allow a hit and walked only 1.

The Red Sox and Angels will conclude their 3 game series Thursday night, with the pregame starting at 9:20 and 1st pitch at 10:07 on AM 1370 WDEA. The 15-2 Red Sox will send Eduardo Rodriguez to the mound. The Red Sox will then start a 3 game series at Oakland against the A's on Friday night.
