Red Sox Shut Out Twins 2-0 [VIDEO]
The Boston Red Sox won their season high 6th game in a row, and now sit a season best 6 games over .500 (40-34) after shutting out the Central Division 1st place Minnesota Twins in Minnesota Monday night, June 18th in the 1st game of the 3 game series 2-0.
Rick Porcello was masterful throwing 7 innings and striking out while walking just 1. He scattered 4 hits. Colten Brewer pitched the 8th, and Ryan Brasier picked up the save, throwing the 9th after being reinstated from the Bereavement List.
JD Martinez and Xander Bogaerts were each 2-4, with each hitting a double.
The Red Sox remain 5.5 games behind the 1st place New York Yankees, in 3rd place. The Yankees shut out Tampa 3-0 Monday.
