Red Sox Open Regular Season at Cincinnati – Thursday March 26th

The Boston Red Sox open the 2026 regular season, on Thursday, March 26th with a 3-game series at Cincinnati against the Reds.

Garrett Crochet is scheduled to pitch the opening game, and will be followed by Sonny Gray on Saturday and Connelly Early on Sunday. In the 3-game series at Houston (March 30-April 1) the Red Sox are expected to start Ranger Suarez, Brayan Bello and then a bullpen game.

Boston will first play at Fenway Park on Friday, April 3rd when they welcome the  San Diego Padres for 3 games followed by the Milwaukee Brewers for 3 games.

The Red Sox made moves on Wednesday, March 25th. They

• Placed Tristan Casas on the 10-Day Injured List retroactive to March 22nd to continue recovery from left patellar tendon repair.
• Placed Kutter Crawford on the 15-Day Injured List retroactive to March 22nd, to continue recovery from right wrist surgery.
• Placed Patrick Sandoval on the 15 Day Injured List retroactive to March 22nd to continue recovery from left ulnar collateral ligament surgery.
• Placed Anthony Seigler on the 10-Day Injured List retroactive to March 22nd because of left knee patellar tendinopathy.

• Infielders (6) - Willson Contreras, Caleb Durbin, Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Marcelo Mayer, Andruw Monasterio, Trevor Story
• Outfielders (5) - Wiyer Abreu, Roman Anthony, Jarren Duran, Ceddanne Rafaela, Masataka Yoshida.
