The Boston Red Sox moved back into sole possession of 1st place after beating the Tampa Bay Rays in Florida on Tuesday night, May 22nd, beating the Rays 4-2. The New York Yankees lost to Texas 6-4.
Chris Sale turned in another dominant pitching performance, going 7.2 innings striking out 9, and allowing 2 walks. He gave up 4 hits, including a solo homer, and allowed 2 runs, 1 of which was earned. Sale is now 5-1 with a 2.17 ERA. Craig Kimbrel picked up his 14th save of the season.
