The good news is that the Boston Red Sox didn't lose Wednesday night's game with the Kansas City Royals. The bad news is that the game was suspended in the 10th inning with the game tied 4-4. The Red Sox and Royals will resume play on Thursday August 22nd at 1:05 PM.

Sheets of rain came down in the bottom of the 9th inning and then the game was stopped in the 10th inning. After a day of 1 hour and 49 minutes the game was suspended.

Eduardo Rodriguez went 5 innings for the Red Sox allowing 7 hits and 2 runs. He struck out 1 and walked 3. Darwinzon Hernandez pitched the 6th inning allowing 1 run on 2 hits, striking out 2 and Nathan Eovaldi allowed a run in 2 innings pitched, striking out 5 and giving up 2 hits. Brandon Workman pitched a scoreless 9th. Josh Taylor was on the mound when the rain came.

The Red Sox scored 2 runs in the 4th to tie the game on JD Martinez's 25th homer, a 2 run shot. Xander Bogaerts drove in 2 runs with his 38th double of the season in the 5th inning to put the Red Sox up 4-2 before the bullpen blew the lead.

Mookie Betts was 2-4. and Jackie Bradley Jr, threw out Billy Hamilton at 3rd with a laser throw.
