The Boston Red Sox won their 2nd game in a row over the Oakland A's Tuesday night, April 30th winning 5-1 and will now go for the series sweep Wednesday afternoon, May 1st with the 1st pitch scheduled for 1:05 PM.

Rick Porcello earned his 2nd consecutive win, throwing a gem. He went 8 scoreless innings, allowing just 2 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 8.

Mookie Betts homered in the bottom of the 1st to give the Red Sox a 1-0 lead. It was his 500th career run and joined an elite group of Ted Williams, Nomar Garciaparra and Johnny Pesky as the only Red Sox players to score their 500th run within 700 games. It was Betts 647th career game.

Mitch Moreland was 1-3, with a 2 run homer in the bottom of the 4th. He leads the club with 8 homers this season.
