Trailing 4-1 in the 6th inning the Boston Red Sox rallied for 6 runs and went on to beat the Tampa Bay Rays for the 1st time in 2023, winning 8-5 in the 1st game of a day/night doubleheader on Saturday, June 3rd.
Masataka Yoshida was 2-4 with a double in the 6th inning driving in a run.
Pablo Reyes was 2-4, scoring 2 runs and stealing a base.
Garrett Whitlock started for Boston and went 4.2 innings, allowing 6 hits and 4 runs. He struck out 5 and walked 2.
Corey Klubler who was reinstated from the Paternity List on Friday pitched a 1-2-3 6th inning and picked up the win. He's now 3-6 on the season. It was his 1st time pitching in relief since April 20, 2013.
