The Boston Red Sox trailing 4-1, scored 5 runs in the 5th inning and 2 runs in the 6th inning to beat the Philadelphia Phillies 8-6 on Wednesday night at Fenway Park.

The Red Sox didn't make an error in the game, improving to 23-12 when playing errorless baseball.

Nick Pivetta struggled in the start for Boston, pitching 4.0 innings allowing 6 hits and 4 runs. He struck out and walked 4.

Cam Booser pitching the 5th inning earned his 1st career win. Kenley Jansen picked up his 10th save of the season.


Enmanuel Valdez hit a pinch-hit, go-ahead, 2-run double in the 5th inning.

Jarren Duran was 3-5 with a double, driving in a run.

Rafael Devers was 2-4 with a triple, his 3rd of the season.

Boston and Philadelphia will play the final game of the 3-game series on Thursday night. The pregame starts at 6:10 p.m. with the 1st pitch at 7:10 on AM 1370 WDEA.

The Red Sox announced that Friday night's game against the New York Yankees would start at 6:30 p.m. rather than 7:10 p.m. so fans can watch the Boston Celtics hopefully clinch the NBA Championship and sweep Dallas!
