The Boston Red Sox beat the Toronto Blue Jays 7-1 on Wednesday night, September 24th. The win reduced the Red Sox's magic number to 2 to clinch a wild card spot with 4 games remaining. The Blue Jay's loss coupled with the Yankees win put Toronto and New York in a tie for 1st place in the AL East.

Garrett Crochet improved to 18-5 on the season with a dominating 8-inning pitching performance. Throwing 100 pitches, he allowed just 3 hits. He struck out 6 and didn't walk a batter.

Payton Tolle came on for the 9th inning and allowed a home run, for Toronto's lone run. He struck out 1 and walked 1.

Masataka Yoshida homered in the 5th inning. It was his 3rd homer of the season. He also had a double, driving in 2 runs on the night and going 2-5.

Carlos Narvaez hit his 15th homer of the season in the 8th inning. It was a 3-run homer

Ceddanne Rafaela hit his 32nd double of the season, and was 2-3

Trevor Story was 3-5. Romy Gonzalez was 2-5.
