The Boston Red Sox lost to the Houston Astros 7-2 in Game 1 of the Best of 7 American League Championship Series Saturday night, October 13th at Fenway Park. Red Sox pitching allowed only 5 hits but walked 10 batters and hit 3 in 9 innings.

Chris Sale allowed 2 runs on 1 hit walking 4 and striking out 5. Joe Kelly took the loss, allowing 1 run in 1.2 innings of relief. The game was 3-2 going until the 9th inning when Houston hit 2 homers, scoring 4 runs off of Brandon Workman.

The Red Sox bats were quiet, only managing 3 hits on the night, all singles.

Red Sox manager Alex Cora was ejected from the game etween the 5th and 6th innings for arguing balls and strikes calls

The Red Sox and Astros will play game 2 of the series Sunday night, October 13th. The pregame starts at 6PM with the 1st pitch at 7:09 on AM 1370 WDEA. David Price will take the mound for the Red Sox.
