The Los Angeles Angels hit 3 home runs in the 1st inning, racing out to a 6-0 lead before Boston rallied, to make it 6-5 at the end of the 5th inning. But it wasn't enough, as the Red sox fell 7-6 at Fenway.  Boston is now 3-7 in their last 10 games and 6-9 in their last 15 games.

Richard Fitts started for the Red Sox and was shelled, allowing 4 hits, 3 of them home runs, and 6 runs in 1 inning.

Hunter Dobbins came on and pitched 5.0 innings effectively shutting the door, allowing 4 hits and 1 run, striking out 4 and walking 1. Nick Burdi pitched the 7th inning, in his 1st appearance for the Red Sox and struck out and walked 1. Luis Guerrero closed out the game, pitching the 8th and 9th innings, holding the Angels hitless.

Jarren Duran was 3-5 for Boston, with a pair of doubles. Romy Gonzalez just reinstated from the Injured List and playing 1st base was 2-5 with a double and drove in 2 runs.

Ceddanne Rafaela was 2-4, hitting his 4th home run of the season, a solo shot in the 8th inning to make the score 7-6.

Rafael Devers was 1-4 with a double.

Trevor Story was 0-4 striking out twice. Boston's batters. struck out 10 time in the game.

Mike Trout was 3-4 for the Angels, driving in 3 runs. He hit a 454 foot homer in the 1st inning. It was the longest homer at Fenway this season.

Boston is now 29-33 and in 4th place in the AL East, 9 games behind the 1st place Yankees.
