Red Sox Explode for 13 Runs in 8th Inning Beat Orioles 19-5 [VIDEO]
The Boston Red Sox exploded for 13 runs in the 8th inning as Rafael Devers had a career-high 8 RBIs and beat the Baltimore Orioles 19-5 Friday afternoon.
Boston's 13 runs was the 2nd most in a single inning since 1969, behind 13 runs in the 1st inning against Miami on June 27, 2003.
Rafael Devers was 4-6, hitting 2 home runs! He had a 3-run home run in the 6th inning and then a grand slam, in the 8th inning. He has hit 5 homers in his last 6 games and now has 12 on the season.
Rob Refsnyder was 3-5 with a 3-run homer in the 8th inning. He drove in 4 runs in the game.
Brayan Bello started for the Red Sox but only went 4.0 innings. He allowed 6 hits and 2 runs, striking out 7 and walking 1.
Garrett Whitlock picked up the win, and is now 4-0.
The Red Sox had Abraham Toro pitching the 9th inning after the blow-out 8th inning. He allowed 4 hits and 2 runs, walking 1.
Alex Bregman was 1-2 and exited the game in the bottom of the 5th inning after reaching 1st base on a single because of right quad tightness.

Friday night's scheduled game has been postponed. The Red Sox will play a split doubleheader on Saturday May 24th. The 1st game will begin at 1:05 with the pregame beginning at 12:05 and then the 2nd game will start at 6:35 with the 1st pitch at 5:35 p.m. on WDEA AM 1370.
