The Boston Red Sox won their 6th game in a row, beating the Toronto Blue Jays 10-5 in Toronto to maintain their 9 game lead over the New York Yankees. Rafael Devers returned from the disabled list, going 2-4 with a double and homer.

Brian Johnson pitched brilliantly through 5 innings. In the 6th inning he allowed 2 runs and in the 7th 3 more runs, but he provided the bullpen with a much needed breather. His final line was 7 innings pitched, 6 hits, 5 runs, 2 homers, striking out 6 and walking 2. His record is now 3-3. Ryan Brasier pitched a scoreless 8th and Joe Kelly a scoreless 9th inning.

JD Martinez, who already leads in homers and RBI's is just 8 points behind Mookie Betts for the batting average lead, and a chance for the Triple Crown. He went 3-4 with a double and RBI and is hitting .332. Betts was 1-4, scoring 2 runs. Betts is hitting .340

Andrew Benintendi was 2-2 with 2 doubles. Benintendi and Xander Bogaerts lead the team with 32 doubles.

When the Red Sox activated Devers, they sent Tony Renda down to Pawtucket.
