The Boston Red Sox are in the midst of a 20 game/20 day schedule, and so far they're perfect, beating the Tampa Bay Rays in Florida on Sunday, April 21 4-3 in 11 innings. The win is the Sox 3rd in a row, and moves their record to 9-13, 5 games behind Tampa Bay.

The winning run came from Christian Vazquez with a sacrifice fly plating Rafael Devers in the top of the 11th.


Xander Bogaerts drove in 2 runs in the top of the 6th, giving Boston a 3-2 lead at the time.

David Price went 5 innings for Boston, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits, striking out 10 and walking 2 but got a no-decision for his efforts. Matt Barnes allowed the tying homer to Tommy Phan in the 8th. Marcus Walden picked up his 3rd win, he's 3-0 throwing the 9th and 10th innings before Ryan Brasier closed out the game in the 11th, picking up his 6th save of the season.

Andrew Benintendi and Mookie Betts each had 2 hits, and Mitch Moreland hit his 7th homer of the season, a solo shot in the 4th.

The Red Sox return to Fenway Park on Monday, April 22nd for the start of a 10 game homestand, with 4 games against the Detroit Tigers. Chris Sale is scheduled to pitch for the Red Sox with the pregame starting at 6:10 and 1st pitch at 7:10 on AM 1370 WDEA.
