Red Sox Fall to Orioles 6-3 [VIDEO]
For the 2nd consecutive night, the Boston Red Sox bullpen allowed the winning runs, as they lost to the Baltimore Orioles 6-3 on Monday night, August 18th at Fenway Park. Boston has now lost 7 of their last 11 games since August 6th, after having won 7 games in a row, from July 29th through August 5th.
Dustin May started for the Red Sox and pitched 6.0 innings, allowing 8 hits and 2 runs. He struck out 5 and walked 2. He allowed 3 consecutive hits and a run in the 4th inning, before retiring 7 straight batters into the 6th inning.
Jovani Moran came on in relief and allowed 2 runs in 2 innings. He struck out 3 and walked 2. Jordan Hicks allowed 2 hits and 2 runs in the 8th inning, striking out 2.
Jarren Duran went 1-3 with a double and drove in all 3 of Boston's runs.
Roman Anthony was 2-4.

Prior to the game the Boston Red Sox signed Nathaniel Lowe who had been cut by the Washington Nationals last week. He will platoon at 1st base. Boston also placed Rob Refsnyder on the Injured List and called up Nate Eaton from Worcester and designated catcher Ali Sanchez for assignment.
Boston also announced that pitcher Tanner Houck underwent a successful hybrid reconstruction of the right ulnar collateral ligament (elbow) with flexor tendon repair. He is expected to miss most if not all of the 2026 season.
Boston is now tied for 2nd in the AL East with the New York Yankees, 5.0 games behind the Toronto Blue Jays. The Red Sox, Yankees and Seattle Mariners are in a 3-way tie for the 1st Wild Card Playoff Spot.
Boston and Baltimore will play the final game of the 2-game series Tuesday night, with the pregame starting at 6:10 and 1st pitch at 7:10 on WDEA AM 1370.
