Red Sox Blast 5 Homers But Lose Trevor Story in 8-6 Win Over Angles [VIDEO]
The Boston Red Sox won their 5th game in a row, blasting 5 home runs in a 8-6 win over the Angels on Friday night, but lost Trevor Story to a shoulder injury in the 4th inning.
Story, dove for a grounder, landing on his left shoulder and was in pain. He was scheduled to have a MRI after the game.
In the 2nd inning, Boston hit 3 homers to take a 4-0 lead.
Tyler O'Neill started it off, with his 1st homer of the night, and 3rd of the season. He now has a 6 game hitting streak.
Next up was Triston Casas, who followed O'Neill's homer with his own, his 1st of the year.
Catcher Reese McGuire, batting 9th hit the 3rd homer of the inning, and his 1st of the season.
Jarren Duran, was 2-5 in the game, hitting his 1st home run of the season in the 8th inning.
And finally Tyler O'Neill, 3-4 on the night, hit his 2nd homer of the game, and 4th of the season in the 9th inning.
Kutter Crawford started on the mound for the Red Sox and pitched well, going 4.2 innings before tiring. He allowed 2 hits and 1 run, striking out 5 and walking 3.
Greg Weissert came on to retire the final batter in the 5th inning. Josh Winckowski pitched the 6th inning, allowing a grand slam to Logan O'Hoppe which tied the game at 5-5.
Chris Martin pitched the 7th inning, picking up the win, (1-0) despite allowing 2 hits and 1 run. He struck out 2. Isaiah Campbell pitched the 8th inning and then Kenley Jansen came on for the 9th inning, picking up his 3rd save. He struck out 1 and didn't walk a batter.
